Blood donation is life-giving. Many are in a life-threatening condition and many are suffering from lack of blood. One unit of blood is required every 2 minutes in India. But this is not a good thing. Blood to be used in an emergency life-threatening condition requires blood transfusion for every little thing. This is something that everyone needs to think about. Blood should be transfused only in case of any emergency or but blood or platelets are transfusing for small small viral fevers. There are few requirements for plasma donation. For this we have to be very careful about health.

Everyone should come forward to donate blood. Some blood donors are coming forward to donate blood. But many people are looking forward to blood donors when they need blood but they are not even coming forward to donate blood. Thus comes the situation where the blood donors who have done so have to come forward again and again. It may not be possible at times to give again and again to those who have given so. Only when everyone comes forward to donate blood can we do justice to all. Some people do not give up due to some health reasons, so we need to make sure that our health improves from time to time. The need is clear even if everyone comes forward without waiting for blood donors.

Sometimes some people are organizing blood donation camps to help the Leukemia people or the needy people. And red cross blood bank or society and some other blood banks also working towards blood donation.

Who is eligible to donate blood, when to donate ...

Everyone over the age of 18 and under the age of 60 who is healthy is eligible to donate blood. Blood can be donated every 3 months. The same platelets however can be given every 15 days. There should be a difference of at least one month before giving platelets again after donating blood.
